Design and manufacture a system to safely transport and orient turbine blades during the manufacturing process.
Turbine blades needed to be transported from the mill to a separate location for stacking, with precise orientation required to ensure safe handling and efficient downstream processes.
We designed and built a bespoke overhead conveyor system, incorporating a gripping mechanism, chain-driven conveyor and rotary positioning system to control blade orientation throughout the process.
The system was successfully implemented and remains in operation, improving handling efficiency and process reliability.
